Insurance Information

Cheshire Medical Center providers participate in a wide variety of managed care plans. We are also happy to bill most commercial insurance carriers.

We suggest, however, that all patients carefully review their health insurance coverage prior to receiving services, particularly when major procedures or other treatment plans may result in out of pocket expense. Patients who receive insurance through a managed care plan should carefully review their coverage, as many services are not provided by their primary care provider (PCP) will require a written referral from the PCP. It is the responsibility of each patient to abide by the terms of his/her insurance policy, including obtaining referral(s) and/or preauthorization for any and all applicable services received. Cheshire Medical Center personnel will not know the exact terms of each patient's policy.

If you are unsure of the exact terms of your coverage, you are encouraged to call the member services department of your insurer.

Cheshire Medical Center is participating with two available NH Medicaid health plans.  The available plans are New Hampshire Healthy Families and Well Sense. For more information about the individual plans, please visit the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services website.

Health Insurance Marketplace

The 2018 Open Enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace was November 1, 2017 to December 15, 2017 for coverage beginning on January 1, 2018.  Individuals may also qualify for Special Enrollment Periods outside of Open Enrollment, if they experience a qualifying life event.

New Health Coverage Available

Are you between the ages of 19 through 64? You may be eligible for the New Hampshire Health Protection Program. This is new health insurance coverage for low income people who qualify. Applications accepted through NH EASY beginning July 1st! Find out if you qualify by visiting the website

NH EASY is available on-line from 6:00 AM until 12:00 AM (Midnight) Monday through Sunday.
