Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene’s Sport Medicine program hosted its 8th Annual 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Over 90 children, ranging from two to ten years old, enjoyed the Kids’ Fun Run and received medals for their efforts. 151 walkers and 319 runners braved the brisk morning wind to bring the total number of participants to 596 which is a record number of participants! Over 100 Healthy Monadnock 2020 Champions took part in the race including North Walpole School who sent 41 Thunder Chickens, made up of mostly 8-10 year olds who enjoy running, to compete. Over $14,000 was raised for Sports Medicine services to the community, including up-to-date rehabilitation equipment, concussion testing, supplies to prevent and treat injuries, and local Sports Medicine education.
