Andrea Plaskiewicz, MD

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene (CMC/DHK) is pleased to welcome Andrea Plaskiewicz, MD, to our Emergency Department.  Dr. Plaskiewicz holds a Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.  She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.  Dr. Plaskiewicz is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Plaskiewicz is an experienced Emergency Medicine physician working in military and community hospitals.  She most recently worked at the Mason General Hospital, a community hospital in Shelton, Washington.  She is a retired Army reservist and enjoys running, skiing and travel.

The Emergency Department (ED) at CMC/DHK has fourteen "emergency" bays, including two specially equipped "trauma" rooms designed for multiple providers to resuscitate a patient simultaneously. The ED is currently under renovation and redesign to provide more private and universal treatment rooms and accommodate enhanced technology, such as Telemedicine, which will allow our Board Certified Emergency Medicine Providers to consult with colleagues at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and the Mayo Clinic. Renovations are expected to be complete in 2015. Coordination with DHMC provides air transport via DHART helicopter, allowing optimum management of patients with acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) and those in need of neuro and vascular surgery.

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene is a nonprofit community hospital and clinic with a mission to lead our community to become the nation’s healthiest through our clinical and service excellence, collaboration, and compassion for every patient, every time. Founded by CMC/DHK, Healthy Monadnock 2020 is a community-wide health initiative designed to actively engage the citizens of Cheshire County in the process of becoming the nation’s healthiest community by 2020.
