CMC/DHK Presents Fourth Quarter 2012 Presidents' Service Excellence and Leadership Awards

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene presented the Fourth Quarter 2012 Presidents' Service Excellence and Leadership Awards to outstanding staff members. The Presidents' Service Excellence Award recognizes employees nominated by their co-workers as those who exemplify extraordinary service to others characterized by compassion, courtesy, responsiveness to the needs of others and a positive team attitude. This prestigious award was given to Timothy Ahern, Desktop Analyst, Information Services, and Leon Macie, Environmental Services Tech I, Environmental Services.

The Leadership Award recognizes employees who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities as demonstrated by excellence in caring, character, commitment, competence and communication. James Suozzi, DO, Associate Medical Director, Emergency Care Services, received this award.

Presidents' Service Excellence Award

Timothy Ahern, Information Services

Timothy "Tim" Ahern demonstrates service excellence in his response to provider and staff Information Technology (IT) needs. He is quick to determine problem causes and works with the IT team to resolve the issues quickly. He keeps his internal customers informed of progress and provides an estimated timeline for resolution of technology issues. Tim has a reputation for dealing effectively and tactfully in all situations, communicating well with all individuals. His efforts as Team Leader for the internal IT Help Desk have improved the responsiveness in reaching solutions to technology problems that arise. Tim's thorough completion of his assigned tasks has been critical to the success of key projects.

He works hard to keep his working atmosphere light and fun-filled which is appreciated by his co-workers and the organization. He helps the organization with his contagious positive morale.

Leon Macie, Environmental Services

Leon Macie's customer service is exemplary. He works quickly, efficiently and thoroughly while making every effort to minimize disruption of staff members in his work areas. Leon is conscientious, taking the initiative to notice areas that need attention. He always has a ready smile and a kind word for everyone he encounters. Leon works well with new Environmental Services staff members, role modeling his excellent service characteristics while offering consistent encouragement and reassurance in his approach.  He uses appropriate questions and offers meaningful feedback and consistent direction while exhibiting patience and understanding.

James Suozzi, DO

James Suozzi, DO demonstrates exceptional vision and leadership in his role as Associate Medical Director for Emergency Care Services. He works tirelessly to improve patient care in Emergency Care settings and integrates this care to admission and transfer needs. He is dedicated to supporting pre-hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) partners in the community through education, policy development and quality improvement. His work in these areas has earned the respect of the EMS community in Cheshire County and at the State level. Dr. Suozzi brings the same level of commitment and passion to "do what is right" for patients brought to the hospital's Emergency Care center. He is a compassionate provider who leads by example, intelligent and well informed with the ability to share evidence-based practices in a way that interdisciplinary colleagues can embrace. His leadership drives process improvement both externally and internally. His reasoned approach and sense of humor are key to overcoming barriers. Above all Dr. Suozzi is genuine, caring and always centered on his most common question, "what's right for the patient?"
