The Cheshire Health Foundation is pleased to receive $1,851 from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #1413 in support of four specialized programs at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene (CMC/DHK): Diabetes Self-Management Education, Childhood Obesity through Advocates for Health Youth (AFHY), Spinal Health Training through the Farnum Outpatient Rehabilitation Department, and free mammograms for low-income or under-insured patients through the "Let No Woman Be Overlooked" program.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #1413 is based in Keene, NH and has 155 members. The Ladies Auxiliary raises funds to donate to medical programs that align with the Eagles Aerie locally and nationally. The Cheshire Health Foundation has been the grateful beneficiary of donations from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #1413 since 2008.

The programs receiving funding from the Ladies Auxiliary have direct impact on patient care at CMC/DHK. The Diabetes Self-Management Education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and includes the distribution of approximately 350 notebooks annually. The notebooks include key diabetes information and resources to enhance self-management and improve communication between patients and their health care providers.  AFHY is a community-based coalition dedicated to improving the health of children in the Monadnock Region and combating childhood obesity. Through the Farnum Outpatient Rehabilitation Department, members of the physical therapy staff are receiving continued training for the examination and treatment of spinal disorders.  "Let No Woman Be Overlooked" is a program through NH Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Division  which qualified women ages 21 -64 years old are eligible for free breast and cervical cancer screenings at the Hubbard Center for Women's Health at CMC/D-HK.  Donations to any or all of these four programs are encouraged, and exclusively benefit CMC/D-HK patients.
