3rd Quarter Employee Awards Presented

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene recently recognized outstanding staff members with the Quarterly Presidents' Service Excellence and Leadership Awards. The recipients of the Presidents' Service Excellence Award were Debra Chamberlain, RN, Marlene Henry, and Sandra Hamlin. Marylouise Alther, M.Ed., CGC, and Jacquelyn Ethier, RN, received the Leadership Award.

Presidents' Service Excellence Award

The Presidents' Award recognizes employees nominated by their co-workers as those who exemplify extraordinary service to others, characterized by compassion, courtesy, responsiveness to the needs of others, and a positive team attitude.

Debra Chamberlain, RN, Clinical Informatics Coordinator, Clinical Informatics Department

As a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics, Debra Chamberlain played a significant role in developing and establishing the Medical Home model of coordinating patient care. As the first Care Coordinator, Debra laid the groundwork for care coordination in the organization and mentored other staff members. She embodies the spirit of the Medical Home, managing health care for individual children with special healthcare needs and spearheading quality improvement projects for children with chronic disease.


Marlene Henry, Patient Financial Services Representative, Patient Accounts

On the front line in the Central Registration area, Marlene Henry assists patients and families with managing bills, taking payments, answering questions, and referring those who need additional assistance to the appropriate personnel. Although her job is fast-paced and challenging, she greets everyone with a smile and provides quick and effective responses to their questions. She epitomizes the qualities that define a Presidents' Service Excellence Award recipient.


Sandra Hamlin, Diagnostic and Financial Services Supervisor, Radiology

Sandra Hamlin provides fast, efficient, high-quality service to the Radiology Department management and supervisory staff in a truly heartfelt fashion. She is always pleasant and professional with everyone she encounters. Sandra also exhibits genuine empathy toward patients, anticipating their needs and assisting them in several capacities. In addition, her co-workers gravitate toward her sunny and helpful personality.



The Leadership Award recognizes employees who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities with excellence in caring, character, commitment, competence, and communication.

Marylouise Alther, M.Ed., CGC, Director of Volunteer Services

With more than 200 active volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, Marylouise Alther's workdays move quickly. She learns the interests and skills of the volunteers and matches them to specific departments and jobs to ensure that they feel fulfilled while helping the staff members. Marylouise shows her appreciation for the volunteers and supports them in the wide variety of roles they play, making herself readily available to provide support and guidance as needed. Marylouise's positive and welcoming management style helps to continue to draw volunteers to the organization.


Jacquelyn Ethier, RN, Clinical Leader, Farnum Rehabilitation

Jacquelyn Ethier demonstrates dedication and an incredible work ethic on a daily basis. She is an excellent, accessible nursing leader who leads by example and serves as a key member of the Farnum Rehabilitation administrative team. Jacquelyn is a skilled and intuitive nurse and an exemplary nursing advocate. She provides the highest possible level of patient care and is a respected resource for nursing-related issues. Jacquelyn accepts new responsibilities as needed and continues to pursue continued education to enhance her skills. She is unfailingly professional and courteous in all aspects of her job, bringing a positive, can-do outlook to the department and organization.
