Dr. Sheila Ramanathan Joins Family Medicine Department at CMC/DHK

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene (CMC/DHK) is pleased to welcome Sheila Ramanathan, DO to its Family Medicine Department. Dr. Ramanathan has recently completed three years of family medicine residency training working with military and rural populations across a wide spectrum of care.

Dr. Ramanathan holds a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, New York.

At CMC/DHK, each Family Medicine patient is assigned to a primary care provider who leads the team in caring for him or her. This provider can be a physician or a nurse practitioner. In CMC/DHK's Medical Home team-based care model, several highly specialized providers and healthcare professionals work together to provide the right level of care for each patient. As a family physician, Dr. Ramanathan provides primary care to individuals of all ages, with an emphasis on preventive medicine and comprehensive patient care.  Given her osteopathic medicine training, Dr. Ramanathan highly values a holistic approach to healthcare.  Recognizing that all components of health effect one's overall well-being, she focuses on integrating her patients' care to promote and support health and healing.  Dr. Ramanathan guides patients to maintain wellness by focusing on preventive treatments, and helps those with chronic conditions understand and manage their illnesses to reduce symptoms.
