The Volunteer Services Department provides support to departments throughout Cheshire Medical Center. It is our goal to be of assistance with many varied tasks and to match the volunteer's interests and skills with the department's needs.
Meet our volunteers on YouTube! There are more than 200 volunteers who provide dedicated and reliable hard work to departments. Volunteers are an integral part of the inner workings of the hospital and are wonderful ambassadors for our campus.

Examples of current and past volunteer positions include Emergency Room, Mailroom, Marketing & Development, Community Health, Radiology, Business Offices, Patient Representation and Safety Monitors on Inpatient Floors.

Why choose Cheshire Medical Center?

Did you know that volunteering could add five years to one's life?

This is just one reason to volunteer. Volunteering also provides people with the opportunity to make new friends, improve skills, add to resumes, and most importantly, help the families who use our services. Volunteering is a way to give back to the community, while becoming part of our community here at Cheshire Medical Center.

Volunteers are here because they truly want to be here - to help, and to make a difference. Volunteers come from different walks of life and from many diverse backgrounds. They bring a wealth of experience to their volunteer responsibilities. They bring their stories, their knowledge and their uniqueness. But they all have one thing in common - the desire to help others. As one volunteer says, "I may be helping others, but I get back more than I give."

How can I find out more?

Who can be a volunteer? If you are at least 16 years old and have a desire to work in the healthcare setting, you can apply. Volunteers are required to fill out an application which includes background checks (17 and older), personal references and medical references (immunizations). Volunteers are also required to attend our orientation program. Please call or email the Director of Volunteer Services for more information.
