Take the Stairs!
Submitted by Champion, Jen Begley
In order to encourage employees and visitors of Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene to take ‘steps’ towards a healthier lifestyle, the South Building stairwell is getting a makeover! The CMC/DH-K Employee Wellness Program have invited local artists to transform the once empty walls of the stairwell into a Monadnock Region inspired oasis. The finished five-story mural will take you from the depths of a cave all the way to the top of Mount Monadnock. Along the climb, there will also be foliage and native wildlife including the newly completed black bear and cub! The mural project aims to complement other efforts throughout our community that encourage the Vision 2020 initiative believing that together, we can live in the nation’s healthiest community.
CMC/DH-K invites all staff and community members to come walk the stairs and check out the impressive progress so far. Local artists Emily Sodders and Katherine Thorell have donated their time and talents to begin the project. We are also encouraging staff and other community members to donate their time and talent to help complete the painting.
For more information on how to donate your artistic time and talent to paint one of the other landings, please contact Jennifer Begley, Worksite Wellness Program Manager at
This project is being funded by Cheshire County Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL).
