Pedal for the Pantry Ride
Submitted by Organizational Champion, Monadnock Cycling Club
On Sunday, June 10th, the Monadnock Cycling Club will again sponsor their annual Pedal for the Pantry ride. As always, the Pedal for the Pantry ride will give local cyclists the opportunity to enjoy a day of cycling in the Monadnock region, while raising money for the Keene Community Kitchen. This year's ride features all new routes of 20 and 60 miles, both showcasing the natural beauty of the Monadnock region.
Both routes start from Otter Brook Park and registration is from 8:00-9:00 am. The ride is unsupported, however energy snacks will be given out at the start and riders will be given cue sheets that include places to stop along the way to pick up snacks and drinks. In addition to cue sheets, the routes will be clearly marked. A free post-ride barbeque will be provided, and each rider will receive a Monadnock Cycling Club water bottle and podium (baseball-style) cap (while supplies last).
Participants may register on the Monadnock Cycling Club website or on the day of the event. Registration costs $30.00, or $35.00 on the day of the ride. The event will be held rain or shine, so there will be no refunds. All proceeds will go to benefit The Community Kitchen in Keene.
The Pedal for the Pantry is a great way to combine fitness, fellowship, and support the Keene Community Kitchen. The two routes offer something for cyclists of all levels of fitness and ability. So, whether you are up for a nice Sunday morning ride, or you want to test yourself with some of the Monadnock region's more challenging terrain, we hope you will join us on June 10th.
