Champions Moment-December 2013

Harry HammondHarry Hammond is from Hinsdale, NH and became a Champion on November 1st, 2013 where he made the pledge to live, share, model and inspire the Healthy Monadnock 2020 initiative. Harry is a Project Search intern at Cheshire Medical Center Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene in the Community Health Department where he assists with program duties.

Harry became a Healthy Monadnock 2020 Champion because he thinks “it’s very important for people to be healthy and to be part of a great initiative.” Since his time in the Community Health department, he has been such an active participant in supporting fellow co-workers being as healthy as possible, although he recognizes the benefit of splurging once in a while on a tasty treat.

Since becoming a Champion, Harry has truly embraced what Healthy Monadnock 2020 is all about during his time interning in the Community Health department. “I like to eat healthy, always have a positive attitude, and be a good role model for others”, says Harry. Harry has done just that during his time in the department and truly Champions a healthy lifestyle from trying to pack healthier lunches and eating with a friend most days, to taking a walk on his lunch break when he can. It is very apparent that Harry lives, shares, models and inspires Healthy Monadnock in his own life and tries to share his healthy behaviors with others!

After joining as a Champion recently and being a part of an Organizational Champion, Cheshire Medical Center Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene, Harry feels that the Champions Program will have a huge impact over time on the community. “I think that the Champions program will educate more people, help them eat better and get more exercise”, says Harry. He also invites fellow Project Search friends to join him as Champions, especially his friend Bryan LaCroix.
