“I am a champion having signed the pledge. It really was not a change in my life, as I have always practiced healthy living. I have been practicing yoga for over 40 years. I am trying to live my yoga. You see, yoga is a life style of healthy living. For the past 20 years, I have been teaching yoga, thus teaching and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Thus, I signed the Champion pledge because I believe in this concept of “encouraging a healthy lifestyle”. I too would like to see the people of the Monadnock region grow healthier.” – Champion, Josephine Russell
“The Monadnock Alcohol & Drug Abuse Coalition (MADAC) is revamping its efforts to reduce youth use, misuse, and abuse of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, to create healthier environments for our kids by partnering with The ELKS in Keene. Together, we will work to re-engage youth by developing and implementing a comprehensive prevention plan with youth and adult volunteers from multiple school districts, police departments, and fire departments. If you are interested in being invited to these meetings, please email Mary Drew at firstname.lastname@example.org or Ray Phillips at email@example.com for more information on how you can help!” – Organizational Champion, Monadnock Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coalition
“I just wanted to let everyone know that our Teen Dodgeball event this past Friday was a big success! We had 11 teams from Hinsdale, Keene, Monadnock and a Church Youth Group! It was great capturing kids from all over the region and had 100 kids participate that evening. We also had some parents watching their child play as well, filling the bleachers! They really enjoy playing dodgeball and are looking forward to playing again soon; some kids were even asking when the next one would be! Thank you everyone for your help in getting the word out for this event.”
