Recognition 5K & Kids Spirit Sprint to Support VeteransComfort Keepers

Submitted by Organizational Champion, Comfort Keepers

Comfort Keepers is partnering with the Veterans Foundation of NH Inc. to raise money to assist ALL Veterans to get the benefits and care they deserve! The Veteran’s Foundation of NH Inc is a non- profit organization whose mission is to “be a unifying force for veteran service organizations in New Hampshire.  The Veterans Foundation of NH is organized exclusively for providing programs and raising funds for the general public-to assist veterans service organizations, to provide emergency aid and relief to veterans and military families, to serve all communities in the State of New Hampshire. Our goal is to provide an outlet of support to all veteran service organizations in New Hampshire and pursue a cohesive agenda that meets and exceeds the veteran’s expectations for service related entitlements and health care.”

This worthy organization was picked to partner with Comfort Keepers of Keene and Milford NH to receive proceeds from a 5K Recognition Run/Walk/Wheel and Kids Spirit Sprint. Comfort Keepers is a premier provider of in-home senior care, and assistance to anyone above the age of 18 needing assistance with daily activities, enabling them to stay safely in their own homes.  Services include trips to the doctor, reminders to take the right medication at the correct time, help with grocery shopping and meal preparation, transportation, pet care, running errands, light housekeeping, general shopping and all non-medical care that will allow a person to remain as independent as possible and reside in their own home for as long as possible. Comfort Keepers also provides personal care such as bathing, toileting, and transferring- and so much more!

Comfort Keepers and the Veterans Foundation of NH Inc have partnered with VFW’s across the state and the proceeds will support a project to help reach all Veteran’s in need statewide. The Recognition Run and Kids Spirit Sprint will be held on November 11, 2013 and will take place prior to the Veterans Day Ceremony in Keene, NH. The Spirit Sprint is scheduled to begin at 8am and the 5K to begin at 8:30am after the National Anthem is sung and the Pledge of Allegiance has been delivered. There will be t-shirts and medals as well as food and beverages available and the hope is to raise awareness of Veteran’s needs and support programs that can assist in meeting these needs.

If you are interested in sponsoring this event or volunteering please contact Erin Bruce at Comfort Keepers by e-mail erinbruce@comfortkeepers.com or phone 603-352-2227.
