The Healthiest Community Summit III, “Ready by 21: Ensuring all youth are prepared for school, work and life” took place on Thursday, June 6th from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm at the Monadnock Covenant Church in Keene. Nearly 150 people attended to hear about the progress that has been made since the last Summit II in November 2011, learn about the new name “Healthy Monadnock 2020” and indicators, hear from five local coalitions (Advocates for Healthy Youth (AFHY) coalition, Cheshire County HEAL, the Monadnock Farm and Community Connection (MFCC) coalition, the Monadnock Region Transportation Management Association (MRTMA) and the Community Connections for Afterschool Networking (CCAN) currently implementing strategies, and participated in afternoon action planning around educational attainment in our community!

The Vision 2020 Update book June 2013 was released at the Summit III as a follow up to the Update booklet released in October 2011 and the Cheshire County Community Plan released in early 2010. The indicators being used to measure our progress have been reworked and updated and there are lots of examples of how Champions are helping to make the healthy choice the easy choice for everyone in our community. Partners are profiled in this update and their progress in implementing the action strategies of the initiative is shared. Check it out here!
