Join us for the 6th annual CMC/DHK Sports Medicine 5K Run/Walk & Kid’s Fun Run on Saturday, April 6, 2013.Race starts at the CMC/DHK’s West Entrance and is in support of the care and treatment of sports related injuries.
Join us & support our local patients and athletes—Proceeds benefit sports medicine with up-to-date rehabilitation equipment, team physician coverage at sporting events, and sports medicine education.

Green Up Keene 2013's event is happening on and around the weekend of April 13th! This litter pick up event will build upon the successes of the prior years, and we will hopefully be more successful this year than ever. If you are interested in volunteering to help with an area, visit our website or check out Green Up Keene on Facebook! Take a scenic trip through fields and forest of historic Stonewall Farm for the Sap Run 5K on Saturday April 27th, 2013. The course is a variety of rolling hills and flat terrain through Stonewall Farm and the Cheshire Rail Trail.

Awakening the Dreamer Symposium held at UCC Keene Addresses Global IssuesSubmitted by Champion, Bridget Hansel
An afternoon symposium inviting participants to respond creatively to pressing global issues and promote more ecologically sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling communities will be held at the United Church of Christ, 23 Central Square, Keene on Sunday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This Awakening the Dreamer Symposium is sponsored by the UCC Social Action Committee and will be led by Transition Keene Task Force members, Katy Locke and Steve Chase.
The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium is an international initiative of The Pachamama Alliance, a San Francisco-based non-profit whose mission is to preserve the Earth’s tropical rainforests by empowering the indigenous peoples who are its natural custodians, and to contribute to the creation of a new global vision of equity and sustainability for all. The goal of the workshop is to generate a widespread awakening at the grassroots level about the power we all have to meet the challenges of climate change, economic crisis, social injustice, and a growing sense personal isolation and meaninglessness.
The workshop uses inspiring and informative video clips, quiet reflection time, and dynamic group discussions and exercises. Over the course of the afternoon, participants will hear from some of the world’s leading experts on topics as diverse as the current state of the Earth’s biodiversity, the reality of the socio-economic disparity throughout the world, and the growing movement around the globe to create a more just, sustainable, and fulfilling world. The interactive exercises also offer an unusual opportunity to share your concerns about the state of the world with other open-hearted members of your community, and offer support to each other in taking steps to effect the changes that you wish to see. Participants will leave the Symposium empowered to take steps to embody their vision for a better world, and will likely have established new connections to work with others on issues of common concern.
