Champions Moment - August 2012
I joined the Inshape program at Monadnock Family Services (MFS) about 3 years ago. I worked out everyday of the week, but could only lose 15-20 lbs and did not lose inches. I finally rejoined Weight Watchers for the 3rd time and have, since March of 2011, lost 89.2 lbs and have also lost 28 total inches as of July 17th! I have never come close to that before and am determined to reach my goal of losing 100 lbs!
I have met the most incredible people at the Keene Family YMCA and InShape at MFS that give me more of an incentive to keep going. Fellow Champion, Laura Briedis, is my mentor, but all the mentors help with this program. They have a great garden group and I have now started my own garden! Also, the people at Weight Watchers are very helpful and you can always get tips from someone if you get stuck. Weight Watchers is a lifestyle change and you can eat any food you want, but you just have to be accountable. Once you realize that and commit to making a life change, you’re all set!
For me, I have Systemic Lupus and that also was a battle when trying to lose weight. They have tried many medications which has always affected my fluctuating weight, but now, for the first time in my life, I am doing well with the weight loss. I am actually looking forward to trying more things as I am feeling so much more mobile and active!"
Diane asks fellow Champions to work hard and persevere in whatever goals they wish to accomplish, no matter how they feel, or with any sickness they may have. Diane feels that anyone can overcome anything with a little patience, determination, and hard work!
