What is Primary Care?
Primary Care Providers are trained to be the point of first contact for most non-emergent healthcare needs. The mission of the primary care departments of Dartmouth Hitchcock-Keene is to provide accessible, comprehensive, and compassionate care to you and your family. We want our departments to function as your medical home.
The Primary Care Departments of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene are:
- Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine who provide care for newborn patients through to young adulthood/ college years.
- Family Medicine who care for newborn patients through to the geriatric years
Additional services coordinated by the Primary Care Departments include:
- Primary Care Behavioral Health Consultation, a service which integrates assessment and support for common life stresses within the routine care provided by your primary care physician
- Primary Care Nurse Clinic, where experienced nurses provide disease specific education and monitoring, as well as medication administration and monitoring, as prescribed by our physicians
