The Pharmacy at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene offers a variety of services, including:

  • Medication Bedside Bar Coding - a patient safety feature which helps insure that the five rights of medication administration are followed:
    • the right drug
    • to the right patient
    • at the right dose
    • at the right time
    • via the right route of administration
  • Monitoring of each patient’s medication profile to maximize medication effectiveness and to minimize adverse outcomes
  • Preparation and monitoring of cancer chemotherapy
  • IV therapy - preparation of IV medications under sterile conditions
  • Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) - administration by the patient of injectable medications for the alleviation of pain
  • Total Parenteral Nutrition - total feeding by vein
  • Pharmacokinetic Monitoring of Drug Therapy - utilizing established practice guidelines and appropriate patient monitoring parameters to maximize drug therapy and minimize medication related adverse outcomes
  • Renal dose monitoring - utilizing patient renal (kidney) parameters to insure proper dosing of those medications impacted by changes in renal function
