Children have special healthcare needs.
Pediatricians are trained to prevent, diagnose and manage health problems in infants, children, teens and young adults. Your primary care provider, or PCP, is the pediatrician or pediatric nurse practitioner chosen by you who provides care to your child by knowing your child and his or her medical history, working to keep your child healthy by routine health visits, taking care of your child when he or she is sick, and referring your child for specialty care when necessary.
