National. 35 affiliated support groups. Founded 1990. Dedicated to advancing medical research into the causes and treatments for spasmodic dysphonia. Promotes physician and public awareness of the disorder through outreach and sponsoring support activities for people with SD and their families. Educational materials, annual symposiums, support groups, newsletter and on-line resources. Offers assistance in starting similar groups. Membership $40/yr.
