3 easy ways to live healthy this week

So if you want to feel better this week, try these three easy strategies and leave the hype behind.

1. Take steps. You can start making progress toward a healthier life by literally taking steps. Regular exercise can be as simple as walking for a half-hour to an hour each day to burn calories, relieve stress and help regulate your blood pressure, giving you a leg up on heart disease.

2. Catch your zzz’s. You’ve heard it a million times — getting between seven and eight hours of sleep a night will improve your focus and energy, but it also helps regulate your immune system, stress hormones, appetite, blood pressure and cardiovascular health. Give yourself a better shot at getting more sleep by avoiding caffeinated beverages after suppertime and turning off your computer monitor at least an hour before bedtime.

3. Share yourself. Research has shown that taking part in lasting relationships benefits you emotionally, as well as biologically. People with stronger social ties have been shown to exhibit healthier habits, sustain better mental health and have a lower mortality rate. So say hello to a
