Cheshire Medical Center/ Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene’s (CMC/DHK) Radiology Department has recently been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy) and have met the highest level of imaging quality and patient safety.

To achieve the Center of Excellence designation, CMC/DHK Radiology Department’s personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance, and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous review process and have met specific qualifications. Every aspect of the ACR accreditation designation process, including peer-review evaluations conducted in each breast imaging modality, are overseen by board-certified, expert radiologists, physicians and medical physicists in advanced diagnostic imaging.

“All of us here in the Department of Radiology at Cheshire Medical Center are pleased and proud of our designation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. This is truly a collaborative effort involving a wide range of individuals with the Department of Radiology. All of us are committed and driven to provide the highest level of imaging and interventional services for the patients we serve,” shares Dr. Michael Sarson, Chairman, Radiology Department.
