CMC/DHK Receives Healthcare Communication Awards

(Keene, NH) – Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene’s (CMC/DHK) Communications and Development Departments were honored for communications excellence at the New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) 2013 Lamplighter Award Ceremony and at the national level at the Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards from Healthcare Marketing Report.
CMC/DHK earned three NESHCo Lamplighter Gold Awards for the: 2011-2012 Annual Report to the Community in the Publications – Annual Report category; Annual Appeal Campaign in the Community Relations/Outreach/Advocacy category; and the Cheshire Health Foundation Inaugural Golf Tournament collateral in the Special Events category. These projects were executed with the help of partner agencies: First Tracks Marketing Group, LLC in Peterborough; Dana Flewelling Design & Photography of Sutton, and GEM Graphics of Keene.
Both the Annual Report and Annual Appeal Campaign were created to actively engage our patients and community, to raise awareness about our innovative care programs and non-profit status to encourage philanthropy, and to thank staff and acknowledge donors. Through qualitative feedback, such as patient testimonials, employee and donor feedback, and quantitative data, including increased charitable gifts and online donations, the projects were considered great successes. The Cheshire Health Foundation Inaugural Golf Tournament benefiting the Vision 2020 Champions Program raised almost $30,000 with a sold-out field of 125 golfers and over 90 business sponsors.
Each year, NESHCo recognizes hospitals, agencies and healthcare facilities throughout New England for excellence in marketing, public relations and communications. The 2013 competition included 385 entries from more than 86 organizations. Entries were judged by the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society and the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations & Marketing.
Additionally, CMC/DHK and partner BlueSpireMarketing, received a national merit award for the HealthMonthly eNewsletter design in the New Media/Social Media category in the Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards from Healthcare Marketing Report. The free eNewsletter publication is designed to provide general health and wellness information and features timely news and events at CMC/DHK, such as free community health education class series and informational sessions.
The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the largest healthcare advertising awards program in the U.S., and is one of the 10th largest of all advertising award competitions. Nearly 4,000 entries were received for this year’s competition. A national panel of judges was engaged in reviewing all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
