Hospital Appoints Emergency Care Associate Medical Director

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene (CMC/DHK) recently appointed James Suozzi, DO, a fellowship trained Emergency Care physician, as Associate Medical Director for its Emergency Care Center. Since joining the Emergency Care Center in 2009, Dr. Suozzi has played a pivotal role in improving quality of care. As Associate Medical Director, he will continue to assist the Emergency Care team with quality improvement as well as managing day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining CMC/DHK, Dr. Suozzi practiced as an attending physician at Windham Hospital, Willimantic, CT. He was Medical Manager of the Connecticut Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1 in Hartford, and a member of Global Partners in Anesthesia and Surgery, a pre-hospital initiative to improve trauma care and increase surgical access in Uganda, Africa. Dr. Suozzi also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic in New York, Colorado and Connecticut.

Dr. Suozzi is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with honors at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and his Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Suozzi completed a Fellowship in Emergency Medical Services at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT.

Dr. Suozzi's professional affiliations include the Air Medical Physician Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the National Association of EMS Physicians and the Wilderness Medicine Society, among others. He is also a member of the New Hampshire Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Control Board 2 as well as Medical Director for New Hampshire 911.
