CMC/DHK Presents Third Quarter 2012 Presidents' Service Excellence and Leadership Awards

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene presented the Third Quarter 2012 Presidents' Service Excellence and Leadership Awards to outstanding staff members. The Presidents' Service Excellence Award recognizes employees nominated by their co-workers as those who exemplify extraordinary service to others characterized by compassion, courtesy, responsiveness to the needs of others and a positive team attitude. This prestigious award was given to Patricia Abrams, RN, Special Services and Andrea Trubiano, Receptionist, Family Medicine.

The Leadership Award recognizes employees who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities as demonstrated by excellence in caring, character, commitment, competence and communication. Kathy Nikiforakis, RN, BSN, MBA, ACM, Case Management Coordinator, Case Management, received this award.

Presidents' Service Excellence Award

Patricia Abrams, RN, Special Services

Patricia Abrams presents the perfect role model in our hospital and clinic, following all of the guidelines for providing compassionate, excellent care while communicating clearly and continuously with patients and their families. Her ready smile and greeting help to put people at ease. Patricia explains what

the patient can expect to occur, as well as the length of time each process will take, helping the patient and family understand what is happening throughout preparation and the actual procedure. She anticipates and fulfills individualized needs for comfort and quality care. Patricia exemplifies the characteristics of compassion, courtesy, and responsiveness to patient needs and has good rapport with the other members of her team.

Andrea Trubiano, Receptionist, Family Medicine

Andrea Trubiano welcomes patients and families to Family Medicine Team D with a welcoming greeting and smile and a professional demeanor. She manages the fast-paced, complex environment, meeting the needs of the patients, their families, the physicians and other medical providers and support staff. As a long-term employee, Andrea's experience and knowledge help to expedite the patient care process, enabling her to anticipate and request information without being asked, and in a timely manner. She works well and cheerfully as a member of the Family Medicine team as they care for patients throughout each day.

Kathy Nikiforakis, RN, BSN, MBA, ACM, Case Management Coordinator

Kathy Nikiforakis exemplifies everything our organization stands for in our efforts to pursue the best possible health outcomes for our patients and our community. Her work with staff members, patients and their families in case management gives them the understanding and best possible outcome in care and follow-up. With her pleasant and professional personality, Kathy is one of the people who make this organization a great place to work and a great place to receive care. Her co-workers, the medical staff, patients and families feel confident when working with Kathy, and appreciate her compassion.
