New Running Gait Analysis Program at CMC/DHK
August 06, 2012
The Farnum Rehabilitation Center at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene (CMC/DHK) is pleased to announce a new Running Gait Analysis program for those who want to improve their running efficiency and reduce the stresses associated with improper running technique.
This new program will be offered beginning in mid-August and includes a thorough evaluation of strength and range of motion by a physical therapist with graduate training in biomechanics and exercise physiology using clinical methods and high-speed video analysis. The evaluation helps to identify movement abnormalities that could limit performance or lead to potential injuries.
Analysis includes a one-hour physical evaluation and treadmill high-speed video gait analysis, 30 minute follow-up evaluation, independent study materials to optimize biomechanics and address muscle weakness and tightness, footwear recommendations, and a copy of the video. Some health insurance plans may cover or reimburse the $300 fee and runners are encouraged to check their individual plan for more information. No referral necessary.
