Community Health Improvement Week, 6/3-6/9
June 04, 2012
Community Health Improvement Week is a national event intended to raise awareness and increase understanding of community health improvement activities. At Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock-Keene, we believe that community health is about the health of all of us, and the actions we can take to ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to live healthy lives. Our programs include: increasing access to primary care and dental services with one-on-one application assistance through the Family Resource Counseling Program, school-based dental services for children through the Cheshire Smiles Program, tobacco cessation counseling and services through the Coalition for Tobacco Free Communities, many free community health education classes, emergency preparedness planning through the Greater Monadnock Public Health Network, Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) program, and Vision 2020, a community-wide health initiative designed to actively engage the citizens of Cheshire County in the process of becoming the nation's healthiest community by the year 2020.
For more information about these programs, please contact our Community Health Department at 354-5400 or visit us online.
