Dr. Scott Sherwin Joins Department of Hospital Medicine at Cheshire Medical Center

Cheshire Medical Center is pleased to welcome Scott Sherwin, MD to our medical staff as a Hospitalist. In this role, Dr. Sherwin practices medicine in the hospital, overseeing patient care from admission to discharge, working collaboratively with each patient’s primary care physician. 

Dr. Sherwin holds a Doctor of Medicine from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, completed post-baccalaureate studies at San Francisco State University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Vermont. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York which is affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Born in Brattleboro, Vermont, Dr. Sherwin is deeply rooted in the region.
As a hospital-based specialist at Cheshire Medical Center, Dr. Sherwin works with other medical practitioners and staff members, providing care in a Medical Home Team, helping patients become active participants in their health and well-being.  The Medical Home Team integrates all aspects of a person's preventive, acute, and chronic care, offering patients comfort, convenience, and optimal health throughout their lifetimes. Cheshire implemented this Medical Home model as a component of the healthiest community initiative in order to help prevent and manage chronic conditions.
